A Mid-East Start Up

In Parshas Lech Lecha the Torah refers to Avraham Avinu, as the Ivri. The Midrash explains that he was given this title because the entire world was on one side, and he was on the other. Raised in a world completely consumed in idol worship and falsehood, he pioneered a spiritual path to the One G-d, a path that would later be know as Judaism. He was an entrepreneur; creating something from nothing but his inspirational vision. But do you hear what he was up against? It was him against the entire world! Can you imagine the opposition? Was popularity not yet invented?
Today's world can learn a tremendous lesson from Avraham Avinu's spiritual start-up. He was just one person, but he had a vision and he believed in it. He lived it, loved it, and sacrificed for it. You have to believe in your vision. It might be the most simple thing in the world, but your passion for it will inspire others as well. And remember, no good cause goes without opposition. As a friend once told me, the Satan doesn't waste his time interfering with unworthy causes. So if you hit turbulence, it's a sign you're heading in the right direction.
Just remember, stay positive.
